The Role of Financial Constraints in Business Environment; Evidence from Business Group Affiliated and Non-Affiliated Firms in Pakistan
Aslam, Saba (Principal Investigator) Khalid Sohail, Dr Muhammad (Academic)
In this paper, we compared the Performance, Investment, Financing Constraints and Leverage of Affiliated Firms (AF's) and Non-Affiliated Firms (NAF's) in Pakistan. Business Group Affiliated Firms (B.G AFs) are more profitable than Non-Affiliated Firms (NAF’S). Affiliated Firms (AF’s) have higher growth opportunities as compared to the Non-Affiliated Firms (NAFs). Furthermore, Non-Affiliated Firms (NAFs) are more financially constrained (FC) and have higher cash flows sensitivities than Affiliated Firms (AF’s). This suggests that Affiliated Firms (AF’s) have easy access to the external findings.
